What we collect
When you book a session. For each driver in your party we ask for a first and last name, and a self-reported experience level. From the person making the booking we also take an email address and a phone number. We use these to hold the reservation, send the confirmation, and contact you if something changes about your session.
When you pay.Payment is processed by Stripe. Your card number is entered directly into Stripe’s payment form and is transmitted to Stripe, not to us. We do not receive or store full card numbers.
When you ask about a party or private event. The enquiry form on our events page is hosted by 17hats. Whatever you type into that form goes to 17hats and to us.
Automatically, as you browse. Standard web request data including IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and the site or advert that referred you.
Approximate location. We look up an approximate location from your IP address so we can list the nearest venue first. This is a coarse city-level estimate, it is not stored against you, and we never ask your browser for precise GPS location.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this website. Bookings for minors are made by an adult.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and browser storage for three purposes:
- Necessary. While you are booking, the driver details you enter are held in your browser’s session storage so they survive going back a step. That clears when you close the tab. We also set one cookie to remember your privacy choice. These cannot be turned off without breaking booking.
- Analytics. Understanding how people find us and where pages fail. We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, which set their own cookies. Clarity records a playback of your session (mouse movement, clicks, scrolling) to show us where the site is confusing.
- Advertising. Measuring our adverts and building advertising audiences on Google and Meta, which set their own cookies.
Analytics and advertising cookies are on by default and you can turn them off at any time from Your privacy choices or the link in our footer. Turning them off does not affect your ability to book. Your choice is stored in a cookie in that browser for 12 months, so you will need to set it again on a different browser or device.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as an instruction to turn analytics and advertising cookies off, and you will not be asked again.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do share it with:
| Who | What they get | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Payment and card details, booking amount | Taking payment |
| Google (Analytics, Ads, Tag Manager) | Cookie and device identifiers, pages viewed, advert interactions | Measuring and running adverts |
| Meta | Cookie and device identifiers, pages viewed | Running adverts |
| Microsoft (Clarity) | Session recordings, pages viewed | Diagnosing site problems |
| 17hats | Whatever you enter in the events enquiry form | Handling event enquiries |
| ip-api.com | Your IP address | Working out the nearest venue |
| TikTok | Cookie and device identifiers, pages viewed | Running adverts |
| OptinMonster | Cookie and device identifiers, pages viewed | Showing on-site offers |
TikTok and OptinMonster are listed because we may use them for advertising and on-site offers. They are covered by the same choice as the others: turning off analytics and advertising cookies stops them too.
We have a data processing agreement in place with 17hats. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
A note for California residents. Sharing cookie and device identifiers with Google and Meta for advertising is treated as "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising (and may count as a "sale") under California law, even though no money changes hands. You can stop it using Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.
How long we keep it
We keep booking records and payment records indefinitely, so we have a history of your visits and can handle any billing or dispute question later. You can ask us to delete them. We do not maintain our own marketing contact list from this website. Analytics data is kept according to each provider’s retention settings. Your privacy choice is kept for 12 months.
Your choices and rights
Everyone using this site can turn analytics and advertising cookies off at Your privacy choices.
If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia, or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may also have the right to know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it, have it corrected, have it deleted, opt out of targeted advertising and of any "sale" or "sharing," and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
How to make a request. Email info@worldofracing.com with "Privacy request" in the subject line and tell us which right you want to exercise. You can also write to us at the address above.
How we verify you. To protect your information we have to be reasonably sure the request is really from you. We will ask you to confirm details we already hold, usually the email address and phone number used for a booking, and for a deletion request we may ask for one additional matching detail such as the date of a recent visit. We only use what you give us for verification for that purpose. If we cannot verify you, we will tell you why and, where possible, treat the request as an opt-out instead, which does not require verification.
How long we take. We confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days. If we need longer we will tell you within that first 45 days and take up to 45 more. Opt-out requests are actioned within 15 business days.
Authorised agents. You can have someone make a request for you. We will ask for written permission signed by you, and we may still contact you directly to confirm you authorised it. An agent acting under a valid power of attorney does not need separate permission.
If we say no. We will explain why in writing. If you live in a state with an appeal right (including Colorado, Connecticut, and Virginia) you can appeal by replying to our decision within a reasonable period. We will respond to an appeal within 45 days and, if we still refuse, tell you how to contact your state Attorney General.
Security
Our website is served over HTTPS and payment is handled by Stripe, a PCI-compliant processor.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
